Class Descriptions
Early Risers: Need a pick me up? Try our 6:00am; 45 minute high to medium intensity cardiovascular Workout with steps; 25 to 30, minutes of aerobic work and abdominals. An energetic way to start the day!
Extreme Step (X-Step): This class is a fast paced step class with 35 to 40 minutes of cardiovascular exercise. Advanced movements on the step provide high and low impact and polymeric exercises.
Aerobics with an Attitude (AWA): You are sure to find this class to be the ultimate all-round cardiovascular endurance. This class offers a warm-up, followed by 35 to 40 minutes of low and high impact including some kickboxing moves, cool down and abdominal work. This hour will allow you to get in and get an all over body workout in an hour!
Muscle Mix (M/Mix): This 1 hour class works with free weights, and resistance bands along with moderate stepping to give you an all over workout to increase muscle strength.
Cardio Combo (C/Combo): This 45 minute class incorporates the best of cardiovascular exercise by using both step and old fashioned high/low impact aerobics. A great aerobic conditioner!
Sport Pump: Created by the Sport Center’s aerobic staff, they creatively use swiss balls, body bars and free weights to help you attain all around body toning. There class has no cardio; just total attention to working all your muscle groups.
Sports Pump Express (SP Pump Exp): This class is a shortened version of our Sports Pump. This class runs a half-hour and still contains all the great components of a muscle workout.
Yoga: This l-hour class gives you the opportunity to relax and feel your inner strength. Yoga focuses on your breathing and internal energy to give you more flexibility and strength. Give a try and you will be hooked… guaranteed!
Cardio Express: This 45 minute class allows you to get your cardiovascular workout in before the weekend starts! The class lasts 45 minutes in length. It is geared to be a cardio conditioning class with a brief warm-up, 20-25 minutes of cardio, closing with a brief cool down stretch. Designed to for you to get in get your workout down and start your weekend early!
Power Surge: Get it all in one class! A total body workout that includes 10-12 minutes of high/low followed by step with brief intervals of major muscle work. Our goal is to maintain as elevated heart rate for maximum fat burning!!
Rotation: This means the class will be a rotation chosen from our wide variety of class types. The class will be posted weekly as to the type of class for that week. (ie: Sports Pump, Cardio Combo, Pilates, ect.)
Pilates: A thoughtfully sequenced version of exercises designed originally by Joseph Pilates. These floor exercises lengthen your muscles as they build strength and flexibility. Concentrations of exercises are used on “Core” muscles, those including abdominals and back. Also incorporated are yoga-based movements for the legs and upper body. This class is specifically designed for all fitness levels, requires no aerobic activity, and benefits persons with specific problems such as fibromyalgia. Come see what Pilates can do for you!
Abs: This 15-minute class offers an abdominal and low back workout. It immediately follows the AWA, so join in for a complete abdominal workout.
